CFTA Meeting

Monthly CFTA meeting. To continue the conversation with candidates for District 3 San Mateo County Board of Supervisors seat, CFTA will host Ray Mueller and Laura Parmer Lohan!Both will be introducing themselves and why they are running for the District 3 seat. Please join us to meet the candidates and ask questions.

Slide One: Just as we are all gathering 

Slide Two: Hello and Welcome (go through agenda) (5 mins) 

·      Introduce Newest Member Gabby: Gabby Bateman grew up in Los Angeles and came to the Bay Area to attend UCSF Dental School. After finishing Dental school she decided with her husband to make the bay area her home. Her husband was born and raised in Half Moon Bay, and they decided to move to HMB and start their family. Gabby works as a dentist at a local nonprofit, Sonrisas. She has two daughters, Camilla and Victoria. She is excited to be apart of CFTA and meet other families and people interested in making HMB a more diverse and progressive place to live for all.

·      Explain Council Process: two paths to become council member: subcommittee lead or admin role. refer to gov doc for more info.

The Past, Present, and Future of the Ohlone People: The first peoples of HMB

To celebrate Indigenous People’s Day, CFTA is excited to be in a virtual conversation with two Ohlone leaders, Kanyon Sayers- Roods and Dr. Jonathan Cordero. In conversation with Evelyn Arce Erickson, they will share some of the history and present day events Ohlone Peoples are facing, as well as their vision for the future. This is a rare opportunity to discuss the true history of the first peoples of HMB with their descendants.
