This event will kick off with a storytime reading of 'A is for Activist' and 'Say Something'. We'll be decorating and making our signs together and inviting kiddos to share what they are working on and why it matters to them.

The impetus for this event came from an experience of a close friend who moved to a new place with her LGBTQ+ family. She described seeing Pride signs in home windows and rainbow flags hanging from storefronts, and noticed her sense of safety go up slightly. Putting out a sign is one way we can demonstrate our community activism and support and model for our children how to show up for others.

All Ages Welcome: Stories are geared toward younger kiddos but appropriate for all!

What to Bring: You and your kiddos! Arts & Crafts materials to decorate your signs. You can use one of these available sign/image stencils or create your own!

Scavenger Hunt: After making your signs, we encourage you to place them in your window or yard to share with our community. When you get out for a walk with your kids, look for new signs or creative displays of support from their neighbors.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Please share the flyer below.
